Pancakes and booze show in LA.....
Well, I've done quite a few shows in my time, but this was very different. It actually didn't matter much that I was one of the artists. The reason the show was so cool, was because the people were so interesting. I hardly even talked much about my art to anybody. What made the show interesting is meeting a number of people who are living their lives by chance, luck and simple negotiations, and living a far better and more interesting life than I have, or could through "responsible" planning, or a career. I'm not ignorant, I have known for a long time that the idea of a capitalistic career is a sham illusion of those who control the money. What I have not been successful in doing is making the connection of having just enough money, to survive on almost nothing. I have always lived the wonderful American tragedy of having everything while simultaneously having nothing. Even nature has been stolen from me by the city. Anyway, one day my boss will lay me off for this reason or that, then, I will try to click in some alternative form of living. These people living their lives by chance are young, beautiful, well traveled and cultured, and good spirited. We have lost this in the cities, because the more people we are surrounded by, the more alone we become. Here is the artwork from the show.

Tom your art is still weird! I like it. Wish I could have joined you all at the show. I sometimes assume the role of bad art and barely hang around.
Did you create the "kitty and spike" piece? It kind of creeps me out and makes me smile because Kitty and Spike were my best animal/pet friends who are both dead now. I even dreamt about them last night- also freaky?
Now its time to get drunk on pancakes with shots of pure maple syrup....
Cheers,
Eric M
